Celebrating his birthday on 24 March, he has crossed the 54-year milestone and will be completing almost 20 years of acting in the entertainment industry! 1. Veer Savarkar (2001)
Though he started his career in 1991, Rohitashv Gour made his Bollywood debut in 2001 with the biographical film Veer Savarkar. He played the role of Ganesh Damodar Savarkar, also known as Babarao Savarkar, who was Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s brother. He was an Indian freedom fighter, nationalist, and founder of the Abhinav Bharat Society!
2. Pinjar (2003)
Pinjar translated as ‘the Skeleton’, is a period drama film about Hindu-Muslim disharmony during the partition of India in 1947. Based on a Punjabi novel, it starred Urmila Matondkar as Puro and Manoj Bajpayee as Rashid in the lead roles. Rohitashv Gour essays Rashid’s brother in the gut-wrenching Chandraprakash Dwivedi directorial!
3. Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women (2003)
Essaying the supporting character of Pratab, Rohitash Gour starred in the dystopian tragedy film Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women translated as Motherland! The movie features Tulip Joshi, Sudhir Pandey, Sushant Singh, and Piyush Mishra in the lead roles. Set in a rural village in Bihar, the narrative sheds light on crimes against women like gang rape and female foeticide/infanticide.
4. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (2003)
Rohitashv Gour embraced the small role of a coconut water vendor in Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial debut blockbuster comedy-drama Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.! In the picture, he is seen offering nariyal paani to Hari Prasad Mishra, essayed by Sunil Dutt. The film stars Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in lead roles as the iconic duo Munna-Circuit!
5. Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006)
In 2006, came out Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the sequel of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Rohitashv Gour essayed the side character of Kukku, who was the secretary of the comical antagonist Lucky Singh, played by the veteran actor Boman Irani. After this, he went on to work in several more films by Rajkumar Hirani.
6. One Two Three (2008)
After a short hiatus, Rohitashv Gour came back to play a guest role in the comedy-drama One Two Three, an uncredited remake of Blame it on the Bellboy, directed by Ashwni Dhir. The film starred Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Tusshar Kapoor, Esha Deol, Sameera Reddy, Neetu Chandra, Tanisha, and Upen Patel in an ensemble cast!
7. A Wednesday! (2008)
Rohitashv Gour played a terrorist Ikhaque Ahmed in the crime thriller film A Wednesday!, the directorial debut of Neeraj Pandey. The movie was critically acclaimed and starred stalwarts Naseeruddin Shah as ‘the common man’, Anupam Kher as Prakash Rathore – Commissioner of Mumbai Police, and Jimmy Shergill as Inspector Arif Khan of the ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad).
8. 3 Idiots (2009)
Collaborating with Rajkumar Hirani yet again, Rohitashv Gour played the servant of the real Ranchhoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad essayed by Javed Jaffrey. One of the highest-grossing films of 2009, the blockbuster movie starred Aamir Khan as Rancho/Chhotu/Phunsukh Wangdu and Kareena Kapoor Khan as Pia in lead roles.
9. Athithi Tum Kab Jaoge? (2010)
Bank Manager Niranjan Tripathi was essayed by Rohitashv Gour in the comedy film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? translated as Guest, When Will You Go? The actor collaborated with director Ashwni Dhir after two years in this film, which starred Paresh Rawal, Ajay Devgn, and Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead roles. 10. PK (2014)
